Karen Kabweru-Namulemu

Karen studied Law at the University of East Anglia and went on to complete the Bar Vocational Course at the
Inns of Court School of Law before being called to the Bar in 2001. In 2005 Karen obtained a Masters in Law
from Kings College London covering Child Law, International Rights of the Child, Youth Justice and Race,

David Truex

David is an expert in complex family cross-border litigation, often involving disputes over jurisdiction
and forum shopping. He fights to secure the best jurisdiction for his client. Most of his litigation is conducted
in the London family courts although he is frequently instructed to advise other lawyers in England and overseas
on international issues. He has been involved in several of the most significant reported cases defining the limits
of English family law jurisdiction.

Mark Kosmin-Barr
Mark qualified as a solicitor in 1997 and joined Freemans in January 2012 where he specialises in Family Law,
including divorce, separation, cohabitation, marital and living together agreements, financial disputes and
private law children’s cases including international child abduction and relocation as well as inheritance
disputes. Mark is a member of Resolution and is a Resolution accredited specialist family lawyer, with particular
specialism in child abduction and cohabitation. He is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel and the UK Central
Authority’s International Child Abduction solicitor panel.
Mark trained and spent the first 3 years post qualification at a West End London solicitors’ firm. In 2000 he joined
a North London solicitors’ firm where he became a partner in 2002. Mark trained as a collaborative lawyer in 2005. He
is an active member of the collaborative law movement and is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
